JACET 51th Summer Seminar (Tokyo, 2025)

Theme:     Enhancing English Teacher Capabilities for a New Era

As the landscape of English language education continues to evolve such as with the implementation of the new Course of Study and the emergence of generative AI, university English teachers are faced with new challenges and opportunities in creating effective and engaging learning environments. These challenges include strengthening pedagogical expertise, responding to the growing demands of intercultural understanding and technological advancements, and strengthening coordination with pre-tertiary education.

Held one day before the 64th international convention, the 51st seminar provides an opportunity to explore the knowledge, adaptability, and competencies that empower English language teachers to enhance their teaching capabilities. Through lectures, workshops, and discussions, participants will gain insights into emerging trends and practices shaping the future of English language education.

テーマ：新時代における英語教師力の強化

2020年から始動した新学習指導要領の導入や生成AIの登場など、英語教育の現場は日々進化を続けています。こうした変化の中、私たち英語教員は、効果的でかつ学習者の興味を引く学習環境を構築のため、新たな課題と可能性に直面しています。例えば、教授法に関する専門性の強化、異文化理解やテクノロジーの進展への対応、初等中等教育との連携強化などが挙げられるでしょう。

第64回国際大会の前日に開催される第51回セミナーでは、英語教員が指導力を高めるために必要とされる知識、適応力、そして専門的資質について探究する機会を提供します。講演、ワークショップ、ディスカッションを通じて、英語教育の未来を形づくる新たな動向や実践への理解を深めていきます。
